LGBTI equality and human rights in Europe and Central Asia

Hold an event for LGBTI equality

Support LGBTI equality in Europe and Central Asia by organising an event or dedicating a special day to ILGA-Europe.

Every cent raised by our supporters goes towards reaching our vision of a world where LGBTI people can live in freedom and equality. Keep on reading to find out what our supporters have done to raise funds and awareness. Inspired to get involved? We'd love to hear about your idea and support you all the way, so please get in touch with Anna Shepherd.

Queer students at Kellogg College, Oxford University started organising an annual fundraising party called Wrecking Ball in 2018. In solidarity with international LGBTI communities, they decided to donate ticket sales to ILGA-Europe. They even teamed up with their local gay bar that agreed to donate £1 per Wrecking Ball guest going there for the after-party. The first Wrecking Ball raised €613 and the second an incredible €1340 towards our work.

Queer Stagiaires, a group of LGBTI trainees at the European institutions, organised a pub quiz in Brussels to raise funds for ILGA-Europe, charging each participant in the quiz a €1 donation and circulating a donation box at the event. They raised over €100.

A group of five running enthusiasts took part in the Brussels Half Marathon asking friends and family to sponsor their challenge. Together they raised €300 for ILGA-Europe's work.

Julian, a supporter of LGBTI equality from Germany, decided to ask for donations in lieu of gifts to celebrate his birthday. “Instead of presents, I asked for donations to ILGA-Europe at my birthday party this year as I want to contribute to improving the lives of LGBTQ people across Europe and Central Asia.”
