Upcoming seminar: Stepping up the fight against hate crimes
ILGA-Europe is organising a working seminar titled “Stepping up the fight against hate crimes. Towards an inclusive response to homophobic and transphobic crimes” on the EU legislation framework to combat hate crime on Wednesday 10 December 2014 in Brussels. Read more about the event, and learn how you can participate.
Despite the alarming EU-wide trends highlighted by the FRA’s LGBT Survey of 2013 and recognition by policy-makers of the need to take action, current EU legislation does not effectively address homophobic or transphobic hate crimes.
ILGA-Europe will hold a seminar “ Stepping up the fight against hate crime” on Wednesday 10 December from 9h00 to 17h30 at Hotel Bloom (Rue Royale 250, 1210 Brussels).
In this discussion, we will evaluate the effectiveness of existing legislation at Member State level and explore opportunities to strengthen EU-level legislation. Considering your expertise in this area, we would be pleased if you accept to participate.
