LGBTI equality and human rights in Europe and Central Asia

Call for participants: Event on EU equal treatment legislation on grounds of sexual orientation and religion & belief

On 26 March, in Brussels, ILGA-Europe and ENORB, the European Network on Religion and Belief, are jointly organising a ground-breaking event to examine existing and proposed equality legislation in Europe

The conference, called “Equality for All”, recognises the shared need for effective anti-discrimination frameworks. It will also give us a chance to explore areas of potential tension in a spirit of dialogue and mutual understanding.

Plenary sessions will be complemented with small working groups that will allow us to explore some of the key discrimination issues facing LGBT and Religion and Belief-based communities, such as employment, health, education and access to goods and services. The methodology will be varied and interactive, providing a chance for an authentic exchange of experiences and perspectives.

Our ultimate aim is to highlight ways forward that overcome tensions and facilitate “Equality for All.”

ILGA-Europe is inviting 12 of its members to attend this conference (all travel and accommodation costs will be covered). If you want to attend, and if you represent an ILGA-Europe's member organisation based in the EU, please send your application (1 A4 page max.) by the 20 February to Sophie Aujean, Senior Policy & Programmes Officer:

  • Explaining why you are interested in attending this event
  • Stating how you plan to disseminate outcomes back home
  • Describing your organisation (members, main activities, years of existence, etc.)
