Call for Applications – Fundraising for Litigation workshop
ILGA-Europe invites applications for the upcoming litigation workshop on Fundraising for Litigation to take place in Brussels 1-2 March 2017.
Over the past years ILGA-Europe and their members have stepped up their litigation work resulting in a number of significant developments in LGBTI rights. However, experience from members and the results of the litigation needs assessment conducted among members in 2016 shows that many struggle to initiate and/or continue litigation of strategic human rights cases due to lack of funding.
The aim of the Fundraising for Litigation workshop is to equip members with practical tools on how to fundraise for litigation. Participants will learn about:
- assessing needs
- donor segmentation
- different forms of fundraising (e.g. crowd funding) and how/when to combine them
- preparing communication and tailoring messages
- targeting different audiences
- developing a fundraising plan
The workshop will combine theoretical knowledge with practical sessions on making pitches and drafting fundraising plans.
As an immediate outcome of the workshop participants will have a draft fundraising plan, which they will be able to put in practice and apply in the context of their organisation’s work.
The workshop will be facilitated by ILGA-Europe Treasurer A. Chaber.
Participant profile
Participation to the workshop is open to ILGA-Europe members, particularly those that have limited capacity and know-how of fundraising. Please note that the workshop will be conducted in English and will provide basic tools and the foundations of fundraising.
Logistics
The workshop will take place at ILGA-Europe offices (Brussels) on 1-2 March 2017 (arrival on 28/02 evening, departure on 02/03 evening).
Travel and accommodation costs are covered by ILGA-Europe. Upon selection, participants are expected to make their own travel arrangements by the cheapest mode of transport available (economy class airfare or 2nd class train). Should your costs exceed €300, confirmation should be sought prior to the booking/purchase of the ticket.
